South Dakota/North Dakota Pipeline Safety Operator Training

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission hosted the annual South Dakota/North Dakota Pipeline Safety Seminar in March 2011. More than 110 members of the pipeline industry attended the seminar along with exhibitors. Presentations were offered by experts in pipeline safety from the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration as well as those associated with pipeline oversight in the two states.

The PUC hosted the annual meeting of the Mid-America Regulatory Conference under the direction of MARC president, South Dakota PUC Commissioner Steve Kolbeck, June 5-8, 2011. More than 300 representatives from utility commissions in the Midwest and utility services companies as well as nearly 100 guests attended. Educational sessions focused on energy, telecommunications, water and professional development topics.
