PIPELINE SAFETY OPERATOR TRAINING

March 15-17, 2011

Feb. 25, 2011: REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission is hosting the annual South Dakota/North Dakota Pipeline Safety Operator Training on March 15-17, 2011. The training event is open to pipeline operators from South Dakota and North Dakota. Presenters include experts in pipeline safety from the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, as well as subject matter experts from the private sector.

AGENDA
Training sessions led by industry experts will address damage prevention, DIMP, pipeline failure investigation, case studies and other issues important to operators. Other features include a hospitality reception hosted by industry vendors, a tour of the Sioux Falls Sanitary Landfill Gas System, briefings about new products and services available from exhibitors, and refreshment and networking breaks provided by MidAmerican Energy Co. and NorthWestern Energy. The training event will begin at 8 a.m. (CDT), Tuesday, March 15 and adjourn at noon, Thursday, March 17. See agenda for details.

SEMINAR LOCATION
The Hilton Garden Inn is one of Sioux Falls' newer convention facilities, having just opened its doors in September 2009. The property offers complimentary wireless
high-speed Internet in lodging and meeting rooms; refrigerator, microwave oven and coffeemaker in each room; and many other amenities. Breakfast and dinner can be ordered at the hotel or training attendees may choose from a number of restaurants within easy walking distance. Meals are not part of the training agenda.

The South Dakota/North Dakota Pipeline Safety Operator Training is being held in a physically accessible place. If you have special needs, please notify the PUC and necessary arrangements will be made.

Sioux Falls is South Dakota's largest city, located at the intersections of Interstates 29 and 90. The city is home to arts and cultural opportunities, history and heritage, and great shopping. Find out more about Sioux Falls from the local convention and visitors bureau.

REGISTRATION & FEES
The training event has reached its attendance capacity. Registration is closed. There is no fee for South Dakota and North Dakota pipeline operators to attend the training. Expenses, including travel, lodging and meals, are the responsibility of the attendee. See a list of pre-registered attendees.

EXHIBITOR SHOWCASE
The following vendors will exhibit at the training event. Attendees are encouraged to meet with company representatives who will available throughout the training event to answer questions about new products and services that will be featured during brief introductions at the beginning of each day's agenda. The vendors will host a Hospitality Reception for all attendees on March 15 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
