Telecommunications
1. TC25-003 In the Matter of the Application of Assurance Wireless USA, L.P., to Expand its Eligible Telecommunications Carrier Designated Service Area to Include Tribal Lands (Staff Analyst: Joseph Rezac; Staff Attorney: Amanda Reiss)
On May 5, 2025, the Commission received Assurance Wireless USA, L.P.’s Petition to expand its Designation as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier to include Tribal Lands for the Purpose of Offering Lifeline Service to Qualifying Customers. On May 9, 2025, the South Dakota Telecommunications Association filed a Petition to Intervene.
TODAY, shall the Commission grant a Petition to Intervene to anyone who may have filed?

1. EL25-014 In the Matter of the Joint Request for Approval of an Electric Service Territory Exchange Agreement between Bon Homme Yankton Electric Association, Inc. and Southeastern Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Staff Analyst: Joseph Rezac; Staff Attorney: Jennie Fuerst)
On April 10, 2025, the Commission received a joint request for a service territory exception from Bon Homme Yankton Electric Association, Inc. (B-Y Electric) and Southeastern Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Southeastern). The proposed exception will permit B-Y Electric to supply single-phase electrical service to a residence and grain bins, located within Southeastern’s designated service area. The property is situated in the Southeast quarter (SE1/4) of the Southeast quarter (SE1/4) of Section 34, T097N, R057W, of Sweet Township in Hutchinson County, South Dakota.
TODAY, shall the Commission approve the requested service rights exception between Bon Homme Yankton Electric Association, Inc. and Southeastern Electric Cooperative, Inc.?

1. The PUC office will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day.
2. The next regular commission meeting will be Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. CDT in Room 413 at the State Capitol Building, Pierre, South Dakota.
3. Commission meetings are scheduled for June 17 and July 1, 2025.
