Rule Making

1.     RM05-002     In the Matter of Revisions and/or Additions to the Commission's Switched Access Rules Codified in ARSD 20:10:27 through 20:10:29 (Staff Attorney: Karen Cremer)

On November 24, 2010, the Commission began the formal rulemaking proceeding regarding revisions to switched access rules for competitive local exchange carriers. The hearing on the proposed rules was held on January 20, 2011. Comments were subsequently filed by the South Dakota Telecommunications Association; Qwest Corporation and Qwest Communications, LLC; Midcontinent Communications; Northern Valley Communications LLC; MCI Communications Services, Inc. d/b/a Verizon Business Services and MCImetro Access Transmission Services LLC d/b/a Verizon Access Transmission Services; AT&T Communications of the Midwest, Inc.; Sprint Communications Company, L.P., Sprint Spectrum, L.P. d/b/a Sprint PCS, Nextel West Corp. d/b/a Nextel, and NPCR, Inc. d/b/a Nextel Partners; Midstate Telecom and RC Communications, Inc., d/b/a RC Services; and SSTELECOM Inc.

TODAY, shall the Commission adopt revised switched access rules? Or, how shall the Commission proceed?
