AGENDA OF THE AD HOC MEETING

Natural Gas

1. NG01-010 IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY FOR AUTHORITY TO INCREASE RATES FOR NATURAL GAS SERVICE. (Staff Analyst: Dave Jacobson/Michele Farris/Keith Senger/Heather Forney/Martin Bettmann. Staff Attorney: Kelly Frazier.)

On September 24, 2001, MidAmerican Energy Company (MidAmerican) filed an application for approval of a general increase in rates. MidAmerican proposes to increase rates for natural gas service in South Dakota by approximately $3,697,000 or approximately 5.6%. Staff is submitting a proposed contract for consulting services to the Commission.

TODAY, shall the Commission approve staff's proposed contract? AND, shall the Commission delegate the authority to enter into the contract to the Executive Director?
