PUC to hold wind energy meeting in Redfield

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has accepted an invitation from Redfield Mayor Duane Sanger to hold an informational wind energy meeting in that community. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Redfield Senior Center, 728 Main St.

PUC Commissioners Dusty Johnson, Steve Kolbeck and Gary Hanson will explain South Dakota's wind resource and current efforts to develop and produce wind energy. Other topics to be highlighted include economies of large and small scale facilities, transmission realities and the future of responsible wind energy development. The commissioners will also answer audience questions.

Anyone with an interest in wind energy is encouraged to attend. There is no fee for the event.
