Attend free open house to learn how to save on energy bills

Montana-Dakota Utilities Company and the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission invite consumers to attend free Energy Efficiency Open Houses on Dec. 6 in Rapid City and Dec. 7 in Spearfish to learn how to save on energy costs.

Both open houses will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. The Rapid City event will be at MDU's office located at 718 Steele Avenue. The Spearfish event will be at Hudson Street Hall, 222 West Hudson Street.

The focus of the events is to share with consumers ways to reduce energy bills both at home and at work. PUC and MDU energy experts will be available to answer questions. Programmable thermostat demonstrations will be held at each event at 10:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

If you have questions, contact the PUC by calling (800) 332-1782 or e-mailing puc@state.sd.us.  Energy efficiency tips may be found on the Web at http://www.puc.sd.gov.
