Contractor Workshops Scheduled at Sioux Falls and Watertown
A contractor-development workshop that focuses on residential construction will be held in two locations during February. "Building Science for Residential Contractors" will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Sioux Falls and Thursday, Feb. 26, in Watertown.
Building industry experts will discuss techniques for enhancing air quality in homes, while constructing a tight building envelope. Contractors and other building-trades professionals are invited to learn ways to reduce the chances of developing indoor mold and how electric heat fits into a homeowner's need for comfortable/energy-efficient HVAC systems.
Workshops will be held at Southeastern Technical Institute in Sioux Falls on Feb. 25 and Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown on Feb. 26. Register online in advance or at the door starting at 8:30 a.m. The sessions are designed to benefit builders, carpenters, inspectors, realtors, lenders, plumbers, HVAC technicians, suppliers, material detailers and related-industry tradesmen.
The seminars are sponsored by participating Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, South Dakota Public Utilities Commission and Western Area Power Administration. This six-hour educational workshop is accredited for continuing-education credits through the National Home Builders Association.
