South Dakota PUC Develops Wind Newsletter
Yes, the wind really blows in South Dakota, and now it's becoming even more newsworthy according to South Dakota Public Utilities Commission officials.
"With the enormous wind development potential that exists in South Dakota, we decided the PUC was the right agency to offer informational tools for landowners, developers and anyone interested in this form of renewable energy," says Commission Chairman Bob Sahr.
Beginning in January of 2004, the PUC will distribute "The Wind E-News," an e-mail publication that will provide wind enthusiasts with the most current wind maps, local stories, upcoming conferences, and most importantly, resources and links.
"As in any business, it's prudent to research and understand the potential of a project before committing one's assets." added Vice Chairman Gary Hanson. "This newsletter will provide both developers and producers with helpful information and identify other great resources for information on wind energy."
Commissioner Jim Burg advises that anyone interesting in "The Wind E-News" is invited to subscribe at www.state.sd.us/puc or you may contact the PUC Office at 1-800-332-1782 to request a paper copy.
