Commissioners Kristie Fiegen, Gary Hanson and Chris Nelson each have a long history of public service and have served together on the the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission since 2011.
South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner Gary Hanson, first elected to the PUC in 2002, served as the commission’s chairman in 2005, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2019, 2020 and from Jan. 14 – Nov. 6, 2025.
