PUC to hold cellular coverage meeting in Irene

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will hold a public meeting in Irene on Monday, April 30, 2007, to discuss regional cellular coverage concerns. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Irene Community Center.

PUC Commissioners Dusty Johnson, Gary Hanson and Steve Kolbeck will gather information regarding the availability and usability of wireless service in the region. Area residents are encouraged to attend and provide input to the commissioners as well as to learn more about various cell phone issues. A representative from Alltel Wireless will also be in attendance.

 The meeting is being organized in cooperation with the Irene Development Corporation.

The Irene Community Center is located at the corner of Clark and Main streets.
