The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission and the South Dakota Farm Bureau will host a meeting at 7 p.m. on May 3 at the Freeman Senior Citizen Center to discuss wind energy development with representatives from Clipper Wind Development, Wind on the Wires, Windustry and area landowners and residents.

The PUC Commissioners will share information regarding the opportunities and obstacles of wind energy development. They'll be available to answer questions regarding landowners' responsibilities and liabilities. Tom Feiler, Regional Development Director for Clipper Wind Power Inc. will be on hand to answer questions. Beth Soholt, Director for Wind on the Wires, and Lisa Daniels with Windustry have also been invited to participate.

Those interested in wind development are encouraged to attend and provide input to Commissioners Gary Hanson, Bob Sahr and Dusty Johnson on this issue. The meeting was organized in cooperation with Sharon Schamber, representing the City of Freeman.

The Senior Citizen Center is located at 202 Fourth Street East in Freeman.
