This presentation focuses on the role of excavation enforcement, and its benefits in maintaining “accountability” for compliance to One-Call laws. The presentation will review how PHMSA conducts a state’s Excavation Enforcement Program evaluation, and how determinations of “adequacy” are reached. The presentation will also evaluate damage and enforcement data, and identify opportunities for the damage prevention stakeholder to advance the safe excavation mission.
