Mrg Simon is the Director of the Legal Department of Missouri River Energy Services (MRES).  She is responsible for directing activities relating to regulatory matters at the federal and state levels, management of outside counsel, contracting, records management and matters of internal policy.  (43)  She is a regular speaker at industry events, and is active in both the electric and legal industries.  She is past chair of the American Public Power Association Legal Section.

Kim Pederson has been with Otter Tail Power Company for 31 years and currently manages its Market Planning Department.  The majority of her career has been spent researching, developing and managing one of the most recognized and robust demand side management portfolios in the country operating in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota.   She has demonstrated success in energy efficiency policy development, as well as energy efficiency analysis, design, implementation, and marketing of a range of demand side management programs with a primary focus on energy efficiency. 

John Knofczynski has been employed by Heartland Consumers Power District of Madison, South Dakota since 2002 as Heartland’s Chief Operating Officer.  Heartland is a South Dakota consumers power district providing wholesale power and energy to 34 customers, primarily municipal electric systems located in eastern South Dakota, southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa.   Knofczynski graduated from South Dakota State University in 1987 with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering.  He is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Jennifer McIvor is vice president of environmental programs, compliance and permitting at MidAmerican Energy Company. Jenny is responsible for managing the company’s environmental programs as well as the integration of anticipated environmental regulations into planning and operating decisions of the company’s business units. Jenny holds a master of environmental management degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, a law degree from Vermont Law School, and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University.

Raymond J. Wahle is Director of Power Supply and Operations for Missouri River Energy Services (MRES).  He  is responsible for directing activities relating to MRES power supply, transmission, generation, information technology, forecasting, purchases and sales of electric energy, and the scheduling of maintenance for generating and transmission equipment.  Mr. Wahle was appointed to the South Dakota Energy Infrastructure Authority by Governor Duagaard in 2011.  He is active on the MRO Board of Directors, MISO and CapX 2020. 

Lanny Nickell is Vice President, Engineering for Southwest Power Pool with responsibility to develop SPP’s transmission expansion plans; direct and monitor construction of approved transmission projects; and administer long-term transmission service and generator interconnection processes.  He has also served as Vice President, Operations and in various management and engineering roles since joining SPP in 1997.  Mr. Nickell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
